The Fit Lab Toowoomba’s High Performance Coaches, also known as Strength and Conditioning Coaches, are trained to motivate and coach athletes and the general population with specific movement patterns.
They use periodised programs to ensure peak performance for all athletes. Our coaches are all trained as a minimum Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coaches with many years’ experience in the industry.

Steven Nance
High Performance Coach

Exercise Physiologist & High Performance Coach (ASCA Level 2) at The Fit Lab.
Steve Nance is The Fit Lab’s High Performance Consultant and Coach. He is the creator of the functional training programs for all of The Fit Lab Athletes.
Steve’s Education
Steve Nance graduated from the University of Sydney as a Health and Physical Education Specialist and Secondary School Teacher. He continued on to gain his Masters of Physical Education (University of Texas), before returning to Australia to take on a role as a Secondary School Teacher PE Master.
- 1978 – 1979 University of Texas, El Paso, USA. Attained M.Ed (HPER) and graduated with a 4.0 Grade Average.
- 1971 – 1975 University of Sydney, Sydney. Attained B.Ed (PE).
- Cert 3 and 4 Fitness
- Diploma of Strength and Conditioning
- ASCA Level Two
Steve’s Career
After completing his study, Steve started his professional career as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Ipswich Jets Rugby League Football Club. From this, he moved into the same role with the Brisbane Broncos – winning three Premierships.
Steve went onto work alongside many different sporting teams including:

- Bordaux-Begles France
- QLD Reds
- London Broncos
- Fullham Football Club (EPL)
- Leeds Carnegie Rugby Union Club
- Brisbane Boys College
Steve maintains an active interest in all aspects of fitness, strength and conditioning but also a passionate interest in preparing young people for the fitness industry as well as the care and fitness of mature aged persons.
Zac Rub

Zac carries over four years’ experience helping numerous clients achieve their health and fitness goals.
Zac is a Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach and works in our High Performance Unit as one of our Coaches. Zac is also currently studying Sport and Exercise Science.
Zac is a big Rugby League and Cricket fan and along with traditional weight training utilises techniques developed from playing these sports to deliver results for his clients. Zac’s passion for sporting performance has seen him complete his level one strength and conditioning qualification, which will further his knowledge, benefiting his sporting clients. Zac is not limited to sports performance only but loves training clients with various goals and has seen some amazing results with his weight loss clients.
Ultimately, Zac’s number one goal for his clients is to see them become the best version of themselves and live a happy and healthy lifestyle – and we couldn’t agree more!
Corey Wolski

Corey has 7 years of Fitness Industry experience. He is our Fitness Manager and one of our High Performance Coaches.
Corey has worked as a trainer specialising in Boxing and Strength and Conditioning working around the Toowoomba region. He has been a Level 1 Strength and Conditioning coach for many years. Corey is currently working towards his Level 2 ASCA accreditation.
Corey has trained clients to achieve a range of different goals including boxing, AFL, and swimming, endurance sports, weight loss and hypertrophy. Corey has an interest in any sport that you are involved in and will be happy to help you achieve any goals you have.
You will find Corey at The Fit Lab on any weekday and he will be happy to discuss anything related to health, fitness, nutrition or sport.
Stephen Harbort

Steve is an experienced Coach and Personal Trainer with a strong sporting background, playing at a high level of AFL, and has an unwavering passion for individual and team-based growth. With almost 10 year’s of experience in the fitness industry, he is a Level 1 qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach and working on obtaining his Level 2 accreditation.
Alongside his passion for sport is his drive to contribute to the performance development and maintenance of it’s athletes. He’s provided individual and team-based strength, recovery and nutrition support to a range of clients from all kinds of sporting backgrounds. His greatest achievements come from working with teams and individuals, in collaboration with other industry experts, to help them reach their targets. Complementing this is his commitment to provide the same level service to individuals outside the sporting industry, who endeavor to achieve their own personal strength and conditioning goals.

Alexander Jeon
Accredited Exercise Physiologist &

Alex is one of our Accredited Exercise Physiologist and High Performance Coaches. He has now been at The Fit Lab for over a year and currently leads The Exercise for the Management of Prostate Cancer Program. He also has a general interest in working with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
Alex was formally based at the Gold Coast before moving to complete his studies in Brisbane at The Queensland University of Technology and has now graduated with a degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Whilst in Brisbane he has worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for Brisbane Grammar Basketball and The University of Queensland, Rugby Union Colts Team – Red Heavies and assisting 2 out of the three teams reach finals during the 2018 season. He is now working towards attaining his ASCA Level 2 Accreditation.
Alex is based in The Rehabilitation Unit and High Performance Centre, working alongside Clients and Sponsored Athletes. He is passionate about helping any individual become a better version of themselves and achieving their goals no matter what fitness level they are at.
Lauren Jericho

Lauren is one of our Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP) and High Performance Coaches. She has been working at the Fit Lab for over a year in the Fit Lab High Performance space while completing her studies at the University of Southern Queensland.
Lauren has now graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science (Major Clinical Exercise Physiology – Honours) with her other qualifications of Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCA).
Working within the Clinical scope Lauren is interested in helping implement positive changes through movement to sustain and improve a client’s health and wellbeing. She enjoys working with Clients to improve quality of movement and helping clients achieve their goals.
She has experience working with Athletes and Sporting teams including working as a Strength and Conditioning coach for Western Mustangs Rugby League and Athletes within the sports of Basketball, Track & Field and Longer distance running. Lauren has the aim to help athletes and clients to reach their full potential and reach their goals.
